Jimmy Buffett - London O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire - Sunday 5th July

U.K. Parrotheads get out their coconut bras and grass skirts. Singer/songwriter/author Jimmy Buffett has become a legend of popular culture as the composer of such classic songs as Margaritaville, Come Monday and Cheeseburger In Paradise. He has recorded over forty albums, most of which have gone gold, platinum or multi-platinum. His sold-out concert tours in the U.S. are an annual rite of summer for his legions of fans, affectionately known as Parrotheads, many of whom are professionals by day and who dress in spectacular and outrageous tropical outfits and headwear when Jimmy comes to town.

Born in the Gulf Coast town of Pascagoula, Mississippi, he was raised in Mobile, Alabama. He is a fourth-generation sailor and fisherman, a pilot, a surfer, and a frequent traveler to remote and exotic places of the world, having become addicted to National Geographic magazine as a child. The lyrics to many of his songs are influenced by his travels all over the globe.

As a best-selling author, he is one of only nine authors in the history of the New York Times Bestseller List to have reached #1 on both their fiction and non-fiction lists. Jimmy has received two Grammy nominations, numerous Country Music Association awards and was the recipient of one of the nation's highest songwriting honors when he was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

I am more than prepared to go to Paris in September.
But is Jimmy going to play a London date this year.
It's quite safe only Zappa falls off stage in London!

Seeing Jimmy has been on my list of things to do before I die for years, but I've never been able to afford the airfare, hotel room, ticket combination. So when I heard that he was going to play London, and on the day after our pre-booked weekend at Goodwood, I couldn't believe my luck. I've been to a fair number of gigs and I can't remember being amongst such a nice bunch of people before. Those parrotheads have to be the sweetest group of nutters I've ever had the fortune to meet.
And what about the show itself? Phenomenal. So much better than I could have wished for. I may not have seen much from the middle of the crowd (I've only just realised, from watching vids on Youtube, that Jimmy was wearing shorts!)but I had the most amazing time. Singing along to all my old faves and dancing like a mad woman. What more could you want.
Please hold true to your promise to come back again, Jimmy. You are definately worth the trip down from the Wirral.

...and I thought I was the only Parrot Head on the Wirral!!!

I missed the London show as I was on holiday in the US; I just got home... Actually in Jimmy's part of the world as we took in Pascagoula, Biloxi, Pensacola, Flora Bama (Breeze) and went to Jimmy's sister Lulu's restaurant in Gulf Shores AL.

I caught Jimmy in Paris last year but will miss this year's gig as am recently jobless but London next year could be good.

I'm glad everything went well, Dave, Pensby, Wirral.

We saw Jimmy in Charlotte in April this year and he was excellent, but this was very special as it was such a small venue. Got real close to the stage, but even the upper levels had the best view as it was a real cosy venue, Jimmy, you were brilliant a little more chatty and informative than in Charlotte but did all the good stuff. You even shook my hand at the end. I didn't come down form the high until just today. Please come back soon! Wendy, from Huddersfield (that's in Yorkshire)

A Fantastic Show !!!
Everything that UK Parrotheads could have wanted.

And a promise to come back next year !

Well worth the wait.

On stage for over two hours without a break, he certainly gave value for money.

All the old favorites were there, and some new songs too.

Atmosphere was wonderful, every person there that night will remember it forever.

Its more that just music, it is truly "a state of mind".

Thanks Jimmy.

Can't wait to see you in Paris in September.

Parrothead Pete.
