The 45-year-old's family - including actor husband Liam Neeson - have not released further details on the matter, but it is known Richardson's injuries occured at the winter sports resort of Mont Tremblant.

Neeson has travelled to his wife's bedside from the set of Chloe, the film he is currently making.

"Liam Neeson left the Toronto set immediately to fly to Montreal upon news of his wife’s accident," said a spokesperson for the actor.

"We do not have any details at this time but we hope for the best and our thoughts and prayers are with Natasha and Liam and their family.
