The Hollywood actress and husband Ashton Kutcher exchanged Twitter messages about Boyle's stunning performance, which has quickly become a global YouTube phenomenon.

"This just made my night," wrote Kutcher, linking to a clip of Boyle singing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables, to which Moore twittered back:

"You saw it made me teary!"

The 47-year-old's act wasn't just appreciated in Hollywood: cast members of Les Mis will be cheered to hear that sales of their version of the song is screaming up the singles charts.
