Sasha

Minimal house and tech.

The Welsh dance DJ and producer, real name Alexander Paul Coe, plunders his vast back catalogue.

The first in a series of ad-hoc and exclusive events curated by Mint's in-house team welcomes the innovative icon of UK house and electro to one of the best underground and intimate club spaces in the north. The night is designed to showcase some of the biggest dance acts alongside local talent, and tonight support comes from promising local DJs David Hulme and Rob Small. Sasha, who refuses to be defined by genres and boundaries, has carved a solid reputation as a truly unique performer by blurring the distinction between artist and DJ, trailblazing a path followed by many of his contemporaries. Since entering the world of electronic music with his now infamous residencies at Shelly's and Renaissance, Sasha has helped to shape and create a niche, forward-thinking sound, rightfully earning him the cult status that he enjoys today. He can be found performing at the biggest festivals in the world such as Sonar, Creamfields and Global Gathering. Aside from DJing Sasha has ably stepped up to the mark as an acclaimed songwriter, remixer and producer, tastefully reconstructing the work of Depeche Mode, Madonna and Kasabian. In 2010 Sasha continues to pioneer the genre he helped create and joins Leeds clubbers in the intimate confines of the Mint Club for a truly unmissable event. Leeds based DJ David Hulme, promoter and resident for one of the cities biggest success stories of the last year, Cognosco is making some exciting noise on the northern circuit with his unique blend of deep and tech house continuing to draw crowds to the dancefloor. Rob Small is fast becoming an exciting talent to emerge from the UK's house scene. After his debut release on Soulman Music storming straight to the Beatport top ten deep house chart, he has managed to secure bookings across Europe and beyond, and has made production collaborations with and for respected house imprints across the globe, such as Cubism, Evasive and Beef Records.
