Join Stephanie Davies for a talk at the Florence Nightingale Museum about Nightingale's famous literary friends and the influence that they had on each other and their respective lives and works. Nightingale's friends included Charles Dickens, Elisabeth Gaskell - authors and campaigners for social change - and Ada Lovelace, mathematician and daughter of the English poet Lord Byron. Stephanie will also talk about Lotherton Hall's Yorkshire connection to Florence Nightingale through family letters and objects from the Nicholson and Galton families. Stephanie is Community Curator and researcher for the collection of Nightingale family letters at Lotherton Hall, Leeds Museums and Galleries. The talk is included in museum entry price and is suitable for all visitors 16+.
