Coven by Rebecca Brewer and Daisy Chute Coven is a theatre concert, inspired by the story of the 16th Century Essex witch trials. Told in a medium-bending format using original folk songs and stories, Coven explores themes of belief, magic, mob mentality, gender and class. Rebecca Brewer is an actress, writer, theatre-maker and facilitator originally from Derby, now living on the London/Essex border. As an actress, she has worked at the National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Court, Almeida and numerous times in the West End as well as on film and television. Daisy Chute is an award-winning folk songstress and multi-instrumentalist and regular on the London live music scene. As well as writing and performing her own material, Daisy works as a session musician and arranger for bands and TV/film soundtracks and is founder of the all-female HEARD collective who promote and support women in the arts.
