This year’s Seafood Week runs from the 5-12 October and a host of participants, including well known chefs, multiple and independent retailers, hotels and restaurants are getting involved in the annual seafood celebration. Joining the celebrations, LondonNet has teamed up with the organisers Seafish and Seafood Week partner Nobilo Wines, to offer two lucky readers the chance to win a mixed case of Nobilo wine, the perfect accompaniment to seafood.

Conventional wine rules dictate that seafood should be enjoyed with white wine. But the experts at Nobilo believe that rules are made to be broken and, with the great variety of fish and seafood available, it’s time to branch out when choosing a wine to accompany the recommended two portions of seafood a week.

The key is to choose a wine that suits the flavours and texture of the fish. Nobilo’s Regional Collection Sauvignon Blanc is ideal with all types of seafood. This crisp, dry white is perfect with mussels or fish pie, while being robust enough to provide the perfect accompaniment to canapés like king prawns with a sweet chilli dipping sauce.

In addition to six bottles of the Sauvignon Blanc, the mixed case also contains six bottles of Nobilo Regional Collection Merlot, which foodies and wine experts alike recommend pairing with ‘meaty’ varieties of fish. Try it with a fresh tuna Niçoise salad or salmon teriyaki with sesame noodles, which perfectly complement the ripe, berry flavours and subtle spice of this new world red.

The Seafood Week website at seafish.org/2aweek will be updated every day throughout the week with new celebrity recipes. Check it daily from 5-12 October for even more delectable seafood ideas to enjoy with a delicious glass of Nobilo wine.
