The 81-year-old monarch, who was accompanied by her husband Prince Philip, happily accepted a bouquet of flowers from four-year-old Joely Mae Lake before she attended the morning service at Flitcham’s St. Felix’s Church.

Remarking on the queen’s matching pink coat and hat, Joely then turned to her mother and declared: “She’s pink!”

Another royal fan, 60-year-old Margaret Wilson, from Lincolnshire, said: “The queen remarked we were wearing the same colour because I was wearing a bright pink fleece. I thought she looked lovely today.”

The queen’s love of glamorous clothes and immaculate appearance has not gone
unnoticed in the fashion industry. Last year, she was named one of the world’s most fashionable women by style bible Vogue.

Fashion writer Sasha Wilkins said: “Real glamour is about sophistication and grooming. The queen is not at the cutting edge of fashion, but that’s not what glamour is about.”
