The 23-year-old prince – who was dumped by Zimbabwe-born Chelsy last month – organised a romantic African holiday to persuade her to give their relationship one more try.

The couple flew out at the weekend and plan to spend the next few days soaking up the African sun during many heart-to-hearts.

A source said: ‘It really is make-or-break time and this holiday is a good chance for them to talk things over away from the pressures they face at home.

‘Harry and Chelsy are both more at home in Africa, so it is the perfect place for them to talk things through. Harry is under no illusions, though, about how close he has come to losing her.’

Chelsy – who grew up in Cape Town, South Africa – recently moved to Leeds University so she could be near Harry but has become increasingly homesick and wants to return.

The source added: ‘Chelsy has left most of her belongings at her house in Leeds, but at the moment she fully intends to come back and clear them out in the New Year. A lot is riding on how this holiday goes.’

Blues and Royals officer Harry is taking leave from his duties but will return in time for Christmas, while Chelsy will spend the festive season in Kenya with her brother Shaun.
