A photographic biography of Prince Charles is to be published to mark his 60th Birthday.

The tome features 300 unseen images of Charles throughout his life and also includes a touching letter he wrote to the late Queen Mother in 1954.

It features images from official sources and the prince’s private collection and is titled Charles, Prince of Wales: A birthday Souvenir Album.

Included with the biography are pictures of personal items belonging to the prince, including a handwritten letter from the five year-old Prince Charles to his grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, written on guidelines to keep his handwriting straight and complete with crayon kisses.

In the book Charles can be seen from his birth through to his school days, time at Cambridge University, investiture as the Prince of Wales, his marriage to Lady Diana Spencer, the births of Princes William and Harry and his marriage to Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

The biography coincides with an exhibition which opens at Windsor Castle next month to celebrate the life the prince.

It includes numerous family artefacts, including the prince’s school history book, complete with doodles on the cover, and a ruler engraved with P. Charles.

The prince celebrates his 60th Birthday on November 14th.
