The 23-year-old looked delighted as girls chanted his name and shouted: “You’re fit” at the Royal Norfolk show in England.

During his three-hour trip, Harry chatted to farmers and toured stands and displays, before leaving the event wearing a tie printed with cartoon farm animals – a gift from show organisers.

The prince was at the event to mark the centenary of the granting of the Royal Charter to the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, which runs the show.

Speaking before the show, Wyndham Northam, chairman of Norfolk County Council, said: “It is an opportunity to show how well we can do things here in Norfolk

“Prince Harry is a big draw wherever he goes and it is wonderful that he wanted to come here. The good weather and the presence of the prince together look set to make it a wonderful show.”

Sir Nicholas Bacon, chairman of the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, added: “It is really great to see the next generation of royals coming to the show. As well as giving the show a presence, it illustrates among other points that we offer something for all ages and interests.”

Show president General Richard Dannatt – who is also Harry’s boss as head of the Army – said: “It’s fantastic to have Harry here. He’s a very good soldier and a good chap.”
