Prince Harry was reunited with soldiers he had served alongside in Afghanistan at a memorial service yesterday (11.05.08).

The prince’s Blues and Royals regiment led the Cavalry Memorial parade in Hyde Park, which was also attended by Harry’s father Prince Charles. Charles took the salute and laid a wreath at the memorial, before a remembrance service took place.
A solider who served with Harry commented: “The nice thing about Harry is there is nothing pretentious about him, he’s a soldier, he never shies away from a member of his regiment.”
Hours before the service, Harry – dressed in a bowler hat and suit – had been seen partying at London nightspot Boujis until 3.30am.
Harry secretly served in Afghanistan for 10 weeks before he was deported home after a media blackout of his whereabouts was broken.
Last week, Harry and his brother William were “humbled” after leading the Princes’ City Salute to British armed forces. The royals joined a parade of troops from the army, navy and air force outside St. Paul’s Cathedral to help raise money for men and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
A message from William and Harry read: “They need to know just how grateful we are for the job which they do on our behalf so uncomplainingly and so well.
“We are both currently enjoying the privilege of seeing at firsthand the simply remarkable job which the men and women of our armed forces do.”
