Earl Spencer has been confirmed to appear in The Speaker, a BBC TV show where he will mentor a group of teenagers to become the UK’s best young speaker.

The show will follow a format similar to the broadcaster’s hit programme The Apprentice.

A BBC spokesman said: “I can confirm that Earl Spencer is one of a number of well-known and successful public speakers in the programme who will be setting the young people challenges to test and develop their public speaking abilities.”

No other participants have been revealed.

The 44-year-old – first name Charles – upset his godmother Queen Elizabeth with his eulogy at Diana’s funeral, which slammed the royal family and the media.

Meanwhile, the Earl showed off his new girlfriend Lady Bianca Eliot at the weekend.

The former model – who bears a striking resemblance to his first wife Victoria Lockwood – and the earl indulged in a shopping trip in Mayfair.

The pair are said to have met less than a month ago following the father-of-six’s split from Jane Yarrow. A source claims it was “love at first sight”.

An onlooker said: “They looked very happy together – all gooey eyes and touchy-feely as they walked along the street.

“They didn’t seem to care who saw them, they were really into each other.”
