Charles and Camilla spent the second day of their official Caribbean tour visiting the Queen’s Oval cricket ground in Port of Spain where they met with several officials, including important government ministers.

The royal couple were cheered by hundreds of students as they entered the Oval, and Camilla looked touched as Rae-Ann Guttea of Providence Girls Catholic School read out a poem entitled Ode to the Duchess of Cornwall.

One verse read: “Oh Camilla fair, Duchess of Cornwall, you Grace our shore, with your presence here.”

The royal couple then met various local cricket teams, including players from Santa Cruz’s School for Blind Children. Prince Charles took the opportunity to join in with the youngsters and he bowled two balls at one blind student, before Camilla did the same.

Charles and Camilla were then introduced to cricket personalities including Andy Ganteaume, Joey Carew, Derek Murray, Willie Rodriguez and Dinanath Ramnarine before continuing onto the next stop on their 11-day official visit.
