The princess, who was travelling in her role as Britain’s International Olympic Committee delegate and President of the British Olympic Association, visited the Macau Stadium in Taipa, where she said she appreciated Hong Kong’s SAR government letting Team GB use the facilities to train in.

After a tour of the stadium with Alex Vong, the president of the Sports Development Board, Princess Anne was taken to the Westin Hotel where she met Macau Olympic Committee dignitaries and was shown the facilities in the hotel for the British athletes which are maintained by the British Olympic Association.

Andrew Seaton, the British Consul-General for Hong Kong and Macau, said: “Team GB have been delighted with the facilities and hospitality they have enjoyed here. The people of Macau can share in the success they achieve at the Olympics in Beijing.”
