With his football career at LA Galaxy stalled at the starting gate due to injuries and her attempts to break into US TV so far a failure, some reports have suggested that Victoria’s current visit to London is for more than just a fashion show.

But nothing could be further from the truth, apparently. “David’s contract is for five years and they will stay in Los Angeles for at least five years – maybe longer,” insisted a spokesperson for the couple, labelling talk of them leaving LA “nonsense”.

At least when with her old comrades in tow, Posh is still something of a figure in the US, as proved by the invitation to The Spice Girls to perform at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

That date in Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre will be their comeback debut on US TV – which will air on CBS on 15 November — and will kick start their world tour.

A source said: “The girls are rehearsing for it already. It’s going be their big comeback appearance.”

The reunited girl group – Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Emma Bunton, Mel C and Geri Halliwell – will perform a short set at the lingerie show, the theme of which is Sexy little things.
