Like Vodaphone and EE, O2 has now struck a deal with main providers Virgin Media to offer free wi-fi access to its customers. The O2 station service is due to start in June.
The deal is timely for O2 as this week 12 more stations are added to the wi-fi list, including Baker Street (pictured), Bank and Earls Court, making 120 overall.
In another move towards the free wi-fi-erisation of London, provider Xchanging has begun its programme to turn the City into a wi-fi zone.
On top of all that, London cabs are to drive into 4G territory, with the launch of a scheme that will initially involve 50 taxis.
“We are bringing this icon of British transport into the 21st century with a 4G make-over,” said Spencer McHugh, EE’s Director of Brand.
