MILLIONS of Londoners are set to welcome in the year with a series of events and parties taking place across the capital.

The centrepiece of the festivities will be the Mayor’s fireworks at midnight on the South Bank, next to the London Eye. Thousands are expected to brave the cold and enjoy the whizzes and bangs in what is now established as an annual tradition.

Elsewhere London’s clubland will be heaving on its busiest night of the year with our picks Carnival Party at LVPO and the Burlesque Ball at Proud Camden.

Best of all there’s free travel on all journeys between 23:45 until 04:30 on the Tube, DLR, buses and trams.

And if that’s not enough, Saturday, 1 January 2011, features the 25th Anniversary of London’s New Year’s Day Parade.
