Visitors to jobsforthegames.co.uk may register their details ready to be contacted as and when vacancies are announced. The launch follows the news earlier this week that the Velodrome has been completed as work on the Olympic Park moves on a pace.

“Staging the Olympic and Paralympic Games is the most complex piece of project management that any city will ever undertake.” said Sebastian Coe, Chairman of The London Organising Committee of
the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

“An inseparable part of the project is getting the best and smartest people working directly for the Organising Committee, our suppliers and sponsors.”

“If we don’t get that right, then we won’t have a successful Games. This site is a gateway to the jobs generated by the London 2012 Games and I encourage people to sign up today.”

The organisers are keen to stress that the recruitment drive is open to a diverse workforce from London and beyond.

Paul Deighton, of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (Locog) added: “There will be tens of thousands of jobs available over the next 18 months and I would urge people to register their interest and make sure they hear about the opportunities first,” he said.
