As well as souvenir tickets complete with the fictional platform name and number, the shop is to stock the full range of essential wizard kit, from robes to school uniforms and wands.

The new outlet forms part of the general revamp of King’s Cross station that has been going on since 2007 and which will be finished next year.

“We are proud to be opening the official Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9&#190,” said Jonathan Sands of London Film Museum and Platform 9&#190 K1ngs Cross Ltd.

“King’s Cross Station has recently undergone the most amazing re-development and we are delighted to be a part of it thanks to Network Rail.”

The new shop is the latest addition to London’s Harry Potter locations, with the The Making of Harry Potter studio tour at the Warner Bros. site at Leavesden up and running to great success since earlier this year.

The Harry Potter Shop on Platform 9&#190 opens tomorrow, Saturday, 15th December, at 7.30am and will open between 7.30am and 10pm seven days a week thereafter.
