DIZZEE RASCAL is the latest star to back England with a charity World Cup song: the east London grime artist has teamed up with comedian Rob Corden to record a version of Shout, the 1980s Tears for Fears anthem.

Backed by X Factor supremo Simon Cowell, the single is set to be released early next week after fans’ voices have been added to the mix. You can add yours by phoning 0800 0494949.

Part of the track is a section by the Dirtee Disco singer that just about puts in the shade John Barnes’ infamous rap from the 1990 World Cup song, World in Motion

“Come on England, we need to sort it out,” belts out Dizzee, who goes on to warn the players not to get sidetracked by their wives and girlfriends:

“Put the champs down, pull your finger out, leave the Wags alone.”

Later, Dizzee hands out tactical advice to the team.

“Stop trying to hog the ball, Knock the ball about,” he raps, an apparent criticism of England’s tendency to lump the ball forward.

Proceeds from Shout are going to London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital.
