Old Brompton Road, Earl’s Court
Should I go?
Those in any kind of hurry would do better somewhere else, not necessarily because the service is slow (it’s not bad, particularly given how crowded the place gets at night) but because the Troubadour is, more than anything else, cozy.
When can I go?
9am-Midnight, 7 days per week.
What’s it like?
In addition to a café, the Troubadour is an art gallery and legendary music venue – Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Jimi Hendrix have all graced the basement stage. Sidle your way in, past the antiques hanging from the walls and the candle-lit marble tables. Take a seat and you’re afforded intimacy by the music, which is turned loud enough to keep your conversation close and is distinct enough to become an additional companion to your evening.
How’s the coffee?
Lattes come served in a glass, which makes your coffee gain class but rather rapidly lose temperature. It’s above-average stuff, but suffice it to say it would make absolutely no sense to stop by for a cup of take-away.
