In short: BBC’s Any Dream Will Do winner Lee Mead takes on a colourful role
In full: Andrew Lloyd Webber’s adaption of the Biblical story of Joseph, the Jewish boy sold by his brothers into slavery and later comes into favor with the Pharoah because of his insight into dreams. Derived from religious history, but Sunday church, this is not. Rollicking upbeat numbers mark this show from beginning to end.

Other Critics
– ‘[T]he Joseph which opened in the West End last night, with TV find Lee Mead in the lead, is cheery, let-your-hairdown fun.’ Quentin Letts, The Daily Mail
– ‘Lee Mead, fresh-faced and chubby-thighed in his white loin cloth, is a perfectly decent Joseph; but you feel it didn’t need the ludicrous rigmarole of a TV reality show to discover him since he’d already played Pharaoh in the West End.’ Michael Billington, The Guardian
