Zarafa (Parent And Baby Screening) (PG)

Sudanese boy Maki is a valuable commodity in the French slave trade. He escapes his ‘owner’ Moreno and embarks on an extraordinary odyssey in the company of an Egyptian traveller called Hassan and a baby giraffe called Zarafa. En route, Maki and his companions witness the Turkish siege of the port city of Alexandria and they chart a perilous path to Paris, where they hope to use Zarafa to secure an audience with King Charles X and persuade the monarch to dispatch his army to repel the Turkish invaders.
