A 50th anniversary rerelease of the wildly imaginative and surreal animation based around The Beatles and their songs. The Fab Four’s involvement is restricted to the soundtrack (bouncing jauntily from All You Need Is Love and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds to the title track and new songs like It’s All Too Much), with their voices provided by a quartet of unknowns. The film twists from one mind-altering set piece to the next, introducing unforgettable characters like the Blue Meanies.
