We Were Here

Thirty years after the Aids epidemic ravaged San Francisco, this documentary returns to the city that lost about half of its male population to the virus to relive the personal stories of the generation, who came together in the eye of a terrifying storm. The film concentrates on the testimonies of five people who witnessed the crisis first hand intercutting their deeply emotional reminiscences with archive footage, photographs and other recordings of the era.
