Naive college graduate Benjamin Braddock is seduced by older woman Mrs Robinson (Bancroft), the wife of his father’s boss. The affair proves unfulfilling for young Benjamin and so, at the insistence of Mr Robinson, who blissfully unaware of his wife’s infidelity, Benjamin agrees to date their daughter, Elaine. Mrs Robinson is furious to lose Benjamin and does everything within her power to prevent her former conquest from following his heart and marrying Elaine.
