The War Below (12A)

In 1917, efforts by the British army to outflank the Germans reach a stalemate during the Battle of Messines in Belgium. Casualties are high and senior British officers run short of ideas to turn the tide. Colonel 'Hellfire Jack' Norton-Griffiths proposes a radical course of action that "the Hun will never see coming". He intends to recruit a group of miners to tunnel from the Allied trenches, beneath no man's land and set off bombs from below the German line.
