Charlotte Lockton moves to the South Island of New Zealand with her British husband, David. They look forward to raising their baby son but domestic bliss is shattered to smithereens when David is killed at home and the culprits kidnap the infant. A ransom note arrives soon after but the authorities are clueless and Charlotte holds out little hope of a successful investigation. Frustrated by the lack of progress, she decides to track down her son on her own.
