In the deprived Belgian town of Liege, Lorna marries junkie Claudy in order to get her green card. Cohabiting a small apartment, Lorna has no sympathy for her drug-ravaged husband, treating him with disdain as she plans a future with her boyfriend Sokol. However, as Claudy begins his latest stint of detox, Lorna begins to develop an emotional bond to her man, unaware that plans, orchestrated by scheming taxi driver Fabio, are afoot to force her into another fake marriage, this time to a Russian hoodlum.
