Timur Zangiev conducts a revival of Deborah Warner's staging of Tchaikovsky's heart-rending romantic tragedy, based on Pushkin's verse novel of the same name. Eugene Onegin was recorded live on the stage of the Lincoln Center For The Performing Arts in New York. Aristocrat Onegin is invited to dinner by his neighbours, where he meets sisters Olga and Tatiana. The latter sibling is clearly smitten and writes a gushing love letter to Onegin after their first meeting, declaring her true love.
