Bricksburg has morphed into the desolate wasteland of Apocalypseburg. Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi, who presides over the Duplo kingdom of Systar, dispatches General Mayhem to Apocalypseburg to facilitate a marriage to Batman. The caped crusader has no urge to give up his bat-chelor status so General Mayhem kidnaps Batman, Lucy, Unikitty, MetalBeard and Benny, and spirits them away to Systar. Emmet gives chase, aided by archaeologist and adventurer Rex Dangervest.
