In November 1975, Jewish far-left activist Pierre Goldman pleads not guilty to murder charges at his Paris appeal hearing in the full glare of the media. His relationship with young attorney Georges Kiejman visibly frays as reporting of the case transforms Goldman into a heavily romanticised martyr of the intellectual left. The militant revolutionary continues to agitate and Goldman risks a death sentence by throwing his own trial into chaos.
