In 1910 Paris shortly before the great flood, married concert pianist Gabrielle Monnier contemplates a dalliance with young Englishman Louis. In 2014 Los Angeles, model and actress Gabrielle encounters virginal vlogger Louis, who cannot make meaningful physical connections. Finally in 2044, Gabrielle contemplates a radical surgical procedure to remove unhappiness from her body.
