Socially conscious 17-year-old AJ is looking forward to a gap year away from her mother Tina, which she intends to devote to knitting jumpers for elephants and other pressing concerns. Tina wants to spend quality time with her middle child before AJ flies the nest. She pressgangs the truculent teenager into a family holiday at a seaside holiday park with the rest of the clan including AJ's pregnant older sister Lucy and her boyfriend Steve, and younger sister Dayna.
