Liam is a 17-year-old dreamer who lives on a run down Greenock housing estate with his sister Chantelle and her baby. Their mother, Jean, is soon to be released from prison, and Liam is keen to find a new home for the three of them, where they can try to become a proper family once more. So he joins forces with enterprising best pal Pinball and tries to take over part of the local area's drug scene. Their plan backfires, and Liam soon finds himself sinking ever deeper into the criminal underworld.
