Carla is partially deaf and works as a secretary in a busy office. Taken for granted by her colleagues, she demands an assistant to ease her workload, and ex-con Paul turns up for interview. Despite his lack of experience, Carla takes a shine to Paul and employs him for the position, taking advantage of his dubious skills to steal a file from a colleague. As the pair bond, so they become embroiled in a hare-brained scheme to steal a vast sum of money from a drug dealer.
