Meditation on grief, revolving around the matriarch of a middle-class family, whose ailing health provides the catalyst for a reunion, bringing together her three children – Frederic, Adrienne and Jeremie – to ponder the future. While Adrienne and Jeremie live and work abroad and therefore have little interest in maman’s house and its collection of priceless objet d’art, Frederic hopes to keep the property and its contents safely under his control. Unfortunately, death duties and his siblings’ indifference threaten to leave poor Frederic with an inheritance of nothing but fading memories.
