Sixteen-year-old Kyoko wrestles with the realisation that her beloved mother is dying. The youngster seeks solace in the arms of the shy, emotionally complex boy-next-door, Kaito, whose parents are divorced. When the body of a dead man washes up on the shore of the island, who turns out to be connected to Kaito’s mother, fractures in the relationship appear as the young man takes stock of his relationship with his parents.
