The Sikh community of Nankana Sahib, located to the south of Lahore, becomes increasingly concerned about the way that Mahant Narayan Das is managing the gurdwara premises. He seems to be swayed by money and is permitting immoral behaviour. Peaceful protesters gather on February 20, 1921 to voice their displeasure and the Mahant responds by brutally slaying those who speak up against him, with support from the British.
