During the time of the Han Dynasty, ambitious Prime Minister compels the Emperor to invade lands in the south under the control of two rivals, focusing initially on the aged Liu Bei, who is guided by brilliant war strategist, Zhuge Liang. Overwhelmed by Cao Cao's military might, Liu Bei sends for help from his neighbour Sun Quan, whi is flanked by loyal general Zhou Yu. The battle between the two massed forces comes to a head at Red Cliff where Sun Quan and Liu Bei make a courageous final stand.
