A priest discovers an inert green liquid in the basement of a Los Angeles church, which is supposedly the embodiment of Satan. The holy man asks Howard Birack, a professor of quantum physics, to unravel the mystery of the liquid with the help of four students: Brian, his girlfriend Catherine, Kelly and Walter. As the hours pass, the liquid gradually infects members of the group and they turn against each other with murderous intent.
