Emotionally scarred loner Philip returns to his childhood home, which is nestled awkwardly in the flat landscapes of Norfolk. He wanders aimlessly around the surrounding countryside and his only human contact is an insidious uncle called Maurice. As tension crackles between the two men, Philip is terrorised by a large spider-like creature called Possum, which repeatedly attaches itself to Philip despite his best efforts to vanquish the beast.
