Accompanying her brother Pierre to a party, Anne learns of the apparent suicide of an activist called Juan, who some of the guests claim was murdered. Those very same guests imply that theatre director Gerard Lenz, who is currently mounting a production of Shakespeare, may suffer a similar tragic fate.
