Every year in the city of Siena, brave riders take part in a bareback horse race in the central square in front of massed crowds drawn from the various city districts. Rivalry between these neighbourhoods is fierce and corruption runs rife. This documentary witnesses the annual event through the eyes of some of the competitors and spectators including 13-time winner Gigi Bruschelli, who was born in Siena and is the golden boy of the crowds.
