The tiny village of Nong Pra-du prepares to pay tribute to the “Ong-Bak” buddha statue in the local temple. The villagers believe that the buddha determines their luck, possessing magical powers that protect the surrounding areas from harm. When the head of the statue is stolen by Don and his goons, orphaned youth Ting volunteers to venture onto the mean streets of the Bangkok underworld to retrieve the totem.
