No Home Movie

Belgian avant-garde filmmaker Chantal Akerman pays tribute to her late mother, Natalia, who died in 2014, with this experimental portrait that combines footage captured on a handheld camera, a smartphone and via Skype. These fragments piece together the life of a Polish immigrant and Auschwitz survivor, who dutifully tended the family home and was happily confined to her apartment for long periods.
