On September 5, 1986, Pan Am flight 73 is on the ground at Jinah International Airport in Karachi when terrorists storm the craft and assume control. Twenty two-year-old flight attendant Neerja Bhanot is the senior cabin crew member and she calms the terrified passengers. The terrorists order Neerja to collect the passports of everyone on board so they can identify the American nationals. The attendant hides the passports instead, regardless of the personal consequences.
