Socialite widow Laura Henderson invests parts of her fortune in a run-down theatre on Great Windmill Street in London. Aided by impresario Vivian Van Damm, Laura introduces the delights of the nude revue to the patrons of the capital, who are both shocked and titillated by this racy new form of entertainment. While German bombs decimate the capital and the rest of the West End closes its doors, the Windmill Theatre continues to raise the spirits of young servicemen, who will soon be heading to the enemy front.
