The Earth Federation prepares a renewed offensive against the Principality of Zeon: a fatal strike on the rebel headquarters in Odessa. Young hero Amuro Ray is instructed to travel to a supposedly uninhabited island and eradicate any trace of Zeon. In this remote paradise, Amuro stumbles upon a group of children and a mysterious man named Cucuruz Doan. The boy temporarily abandons the Gundam prototype robotic armour to investigate the island and he stumbles upon an alarming secret.
